Back to Nature...

A sunny day meant for the outdoors.

Met Dear at 4.30pm with plans to 'conquer' the Treetop Trail at MacRitchie Reservoir. But when we started on the trail, we knew we were never going to make it, cos it's a 5km route up to the treetop, which actually closes at 5pm!!

So we were walking (which I insisted) up and down the slopes of MacRitchie, taking in the familiar sights. Dear kept saying he used to run there during his army days with his team-mates and Warrant Officer while I said I last went to MacRitchie for Cross-country in sec 3! Haha..I actually wore my track shoes, which has only been used occasionally since I left JC. It's really going to give way soon and I was wondering if I would actually leave my rubber sole behind, like one that I saw on the ground. :p

We checked our watches at 5pm, and decided that we shld turn back then at the 3km mark. Might as well check out the other places of the reservoir park instead, and come back another day. So that's what we did.

So we saw pple kayaking in the waters. We sat down at a bench, and saw many turtles and fishes. Then Grandpa came along with a little boy, with slices of bread in a plastic bag. They started feeding the turtles and fishes, joined by another family whom Grandpa kindly passed the kids a slice of bread each to feed the turtles and fishes. So it was quite fun seeing them.. (but actually it's illegal to feed them, so someone came to stop them after that, and they left)

We walked to the other side of the reservoir, where there was an exhibition of Mongolian stuff. Jus walked arnd alot, until it was getting alittle dark then we left for Yishun to have dinner. The food for the night was Teppanyaki (did I spell it right?) Then soon it was home sweet home. Just can't wait to go home and bathe, as I was feeling pretty sticky and dirty.

A different day out, not to the malls but back to Nature...The feeling was pretty good. Just a pity that I didn't bring my camera along! The next time, I would. And we would make it to the treetop trail to enjoy that scenary!!....
