Complaints, and more complaints
It's last day of school before Chinese New Year. I guess most people are in the holiday mood, are you? I have an 8am lecture today, and you know what? I went to school, but I didn't attend it. Just cos I didn't want to enter the room late -- the class is simply so small, I have no wish for the lecturer to remember me. I've never been early for his lecture. I really should cut down on 8am lectures, it's too taxing on me.
As usual, I've to go for last minute shopping for new year clothes. Seen many things, but not too many that I like. Came back with nothing. Last chance tmr perhaps (only 1 hr thou). Wanted to go do hair treatment too, then we found out that the salon (which still has the same name) has changed management hands. So we got cheated of 80 bucks!! They still owe us 2 sessions of hair treatment, but said since we didn't come back during that grace period of 1 year for old customers, they can't do anything since the previous owner took all the records!! Like...WHAT THE HELL!!!...We're going to complain!!
I'm actually in quite a bad mood today, which started from early in the morning when I woke up with a bad throat. Then I saw my good'o bus leaving the bus stop across the road. I made a wrong decision to take another bus, which took MUCH longer, so I was much later. Then I had to miss the other bus right in front of the one I was taking. Chain of events.
Then it was the horrible salon. Afterwards, I was queuing up to try a skirt, and I got really impatient. First there was only ONE fitting room, so you can expect at least 2 or 3 pple in the queue. The lady in the fitting room had to ask her dau to go get another size for her when the one she tried was not satisfactory. Took so long! Nvm, I can tolerate. Then I look at the lady in front of me, who's next in the queue, she had 5 tops when it says in BOLD in front of her: "Max 3 Pieces". I kept quiet, but I was boiling inside already, thinking she should know her own limits. Then the breaking point came when she changed into every one of them, and had to open the curtain each time to show her guy!! Her fashion show ar!! By the 4th or 5th piece, the queue was really getting longer. I just felt so pissed, I said, "Excuse me, max 3 pieces!". It worked, she changed back into her clothes, and she came out. I think I was the only one who made my displeasure heard, so many people saw and heard me. Wahaha. Under normal circumstances, I would feel damn paiseh. But when I'm pissed, and when I feel I'm not wrong in saying that, I feel shiok! Really shiok! Wahaha. I'm not a good soul, so I shall not act like I am one.
Aiya, this is basically just a post full of complaints. I don't even feel like writing properly! That's it.

Is that a mask u're wearing?
Recently, a spate of events happened that made a few people around me sad.
Story 1:
He who loves but not loved in return. Instead, he was told the hard fact that she loves someone else instead; someone else he knows. It hurt him so much, he's becoming despondent. When I saw him before the lecture started, he was laughing away with other frens. Yet, when the lecture starts, he dwells in his own world looking at his hp.
Story 2:
He who loves her so much, he's become paranoid. I can't tell if he's being protective of her, or being possessive of her; it's so hard to draw the line. She's tired of the many times such incidents happened, but would still give in time and time again. She's just waiting -- waiting for him to change. She, too, appears cheerful when many others are around. When it all quietens down, you can sense otherwise.
Perhaps it's our natural defence mechanism. The weaker we are on the inside, the stronger we make ourselves appear to be to others. It's just a 'wall' to protect ourselves, or is it not? But sometimes it's just painful to see your friend in that situation, yet at least happy she can put down that happy front for some moment when she confides in you.
So who, really is happy, and who's not?

I miss Dear.. A sick boy he is, these days. Please recover really soon, and let me see ur smile again!!... Don't be so stressed over labs k...
You know what's painful about new year shopping?! The horrible chinese new year songs that they play in the shopping malls...haha..am I being too picky? But seriously, they are painful to the ears. Counting down, one week to CNY. No gains from shopping yet :(
It's time of the year for spring cleaning -- precisely what I'm going to spend my day on tmr! It's going to be a major one, if I can keep my patience going. I shall throw away all my notes from JC and secondary sch(if I find any), and pack my drawers that are full of junk. I realise I'm quite a junk-collector, I even have my clarinet reeds left behind since don't know when! Plus lots of old stuff which I usually can't decide to throw, believing that they're meaningful to keep! Haha..
Tutorials start on Monday!! I've yet to get into the momentum of the semester.
Rather random, once again.

What a Joke!!
(courtesy of WX)
A guy is nearing the end of his senior year in high school. Unfortunately, he still has to share a room with his younger brother who is only 9 years old. One night, he decides to bring his girlfriend home for a little fun.
They have bunk beds and the guy notices that his little brother is already asleep on the lower bunk, so he and his girlfriend climb up to the top bunk. As you might expect things start to heat up. The guy remembers that his little brother is sleeping below so he tells his girlfriend to whisper "lettuce" if she wants it harder and "tomato" if she wants a new position.
Lettuce!!!
Tomato!!!
Lettuce!!!
Tomato!!!
Lettuce!!!
Tomato!!!
She screams.
Lettuce!!!
Tomato!!!
Whoa!!!
PULL IT OUT!!!
PULL IT OUT NOW!!!
I can't get pregnant!
Then the little brother shouts up, "Hey, would you guys stop making sandwiches up there! You're getting mayonnaise all over my face!*!*!*!*!
==========
Just for laughs :p

It's getting to me...
It's back to the routine of printing notes and tutorials, reading the notes then attempting the tutorial. The routine is there, but the momentum is not. I don't see a good semester ahead. Sometimes I think, perhaps I should jus graduate. Then again, I still have a faculty requirement to fulfill!
I'm so envious when I hear/see people who have gone and come back on exchange progs. I hardly know of the academic side of it, but what appeals to me is the travelling arnd -- taking in the sights and cultures of all the other countries, cities or even the countryside. I'm really envious. I want to go backpacking in Europe one day. I hope I will be able to do so.
I think I've grown to be so reliant on my handphone. I'd feel so handicapped even if I were just to leave the phone at home for a day! That's my alarm clock, my calendar, my calculator at times, my address book (I won't know the numbers of most people if not for the hp) and of cos the phone calls and messages. I would feel weird when I can't msg or call anyone anytime anywhere.
How to keep the distance close?

Back to School...
For some of our friends, it's probably the last "first day of sch" this semester. Working life formally starts in just a few months' time. When it's my turn, I would probably miss school alot. Which is why I rather take honours and study longer :p
BUT my first day back to school on Monday pretty much sux!! Attended a level 4000 module lecture, and I can't wait to leave after 20 minutes or so. Still haven't decided if I want to take the module; unfortunately that's the only level 4000 module that doesn't clash with my current timetable. I'm going to cushion all the other year 4 students, and the PRCs. Oh man!!! Bayesian or not?!
Just can't help but say this, "SIANZ!!"
I dread going back to school, haven't enjoyed my holidays yet since I was working. I want to have a short short getaway or sth.. I want to shop too!! But then there's the monetary constraints :~l
From now on, I must save up!! Else I won't have enough money to go to Orlando. I would probably be living off bread and water!! Then can lose some weight?! Haha...
Pretty messy thoughts tonight (or perhaps everytime). Shall just end it off with a line by my lecturer today...
No one, on average, is better than the average.
So, don't you dare to rate yourself as "better than average" at any interviews, surveys or whatsoever!!

Waiting for another break!
Feels good to have a half day off, without working. I want a longer break before I start sch!! Think I'm done with my modules this semester; taking 6 modules (most probably), 5-day week (no more wed break..sobz).
Damn damn damn..I'm in the shopping mood!! 1st damage: Spent quite a bit at the Body Shop sale which I chanced upon today. I have so many other things that I want to buy!! Including new clothes for the new semester, especially three-quarter pants (where to find nice ones??) and probably unique T-shirts to go with jeans!
Wasted the trip to JB and Malaysia. Really should have shopped more!!
I'm pre-spending my pay!! Yet to buy clothes (and shoes and bags) for chinese new year too :p Perhaps I should save up more money to shop in US instead?? Haha..
What about highlighting my hair?! Plus treatment as well?!
Yeay!! Last day of work; looking forward to the weekend..and Bro's coming home!

Happy New Year 2006
Just an interesting fact: Did you know that this year's New Year was actually one second later?
Ushering in the new year (a second later), and bidding farewell to 2005. It hasn't been the most eventful year. Academic wise, the first sem was the best I had and the second was almost the worst in my entire NUS stay. I made two major decisions -- one to go onto Honours year, and also to go on Work and Travel USA.
So the second is what I'm really looking forward to in the new year. I really hope it will be fun and exciting, despite the fact that I will miss my friends, family (and home and bed) and Dear so much :(
I guess this time round, I won't make any more new year resolutions. I seldom get down to achieving them anyway (unfortunately).
Recalling....
Spent the afternoon of xmas eve at Dear's place, along with JW. Auntie gf invited us over for lunch to celebrate her birthday. Dear and I got her a handbag the day before (that's what we call earning credit~! Haha..) Then went over to Uncle Tan's house for the yearly xmas gathering -- lots of food, including turkey, ham, grilled chicken, and curry which I didn't touch.
Sunday was spent resting at home, since I was suffering from a slight flu which is a result of having too much chips in the office on Friday. But I still went out in the evening to meet WL and MH at a co-hosted xmas party. Basically we only knew each other and no one else. All we did was to go to the condo and eat. Feels good that I was the first one to reach home, cos it happened that the place was jus 6 bus stops away from my house.
Then it was back at work. But even then, it was activity filled everyday. That's why there are 12 days of xmas?? Tue -- a brief window shopping trip at J8. Wed -- watched Chronicles of Narnia with Dear. Thur -- Met up with QL and ZH for dinner, and a cosy chat inside tcc. Fri -- secondary sch classmates gathering. Total turnout was about 12 people, really not too bad. Weird topic of discussion at some point though: Marriage. Haha, didn't stay long enough to hear much sadly.
New year eve was spent with Dear and his friends. We all ended up inside Madam Wong's (felt quite cheated). I must say, clubbing is really not sth that I like at all. All the loud blaring music, and the smoke in the air. I can just sit down at one corner and wait for the rest of them. Nonetheless, it's a first-time experience, which I doubt there would be a next.
New year itself was stay-home day. There were supposedly 3 gatherings, but ended up with none. Played mahjong with family instead : Haha...Everyone in my house knows how to play ok -- under my father's tutelage!
One year anniversary to this blog too!!
