Before the excitement begins
Somehow, new year eve is often more exciting than the day itself. Perhaps its cos of the countdown factor, and when people gather for that magical stroke of 12 midnight. Same goes for Christmas. This year, I had peaceful celebrations for both occasions. One with the boyfriend, and one (almost) with the good friend.
Though the eve of the eve was somewhat emotional for me, I shall not dwell on it. I shall just think back on what happened for the past 7 years for me. (Why 7? Because I prefer the number 7 over 10). Okies, that goes back to...
2000:
It was the last year in Cedar. Most of my time was spent in band practices, and since there was no SYF that year, it was preparation for concerts. I still remember the concert was called Winsperassion. I also had my Grade 7 piano exam that year, so I practised alot in my piano teacher's house. Of cos, it's also the year of O's.
2001:
JC life began. First 3 months at AJ, then went over to VJ. I don't know why I wanted to go there so much, but at least I was happy being in the band in VJ, and made some good friends from my class. VERY important event (to me) was SYF that year, when we played Persis and won the Gold. I love that song!!
2002:
Year 2 of JC life passed really quickly. I don't remember anything much, except for not paying attention in many lessons. Haha..plus adding all the endearing "jie" and "ge" to all our tutors' names. There was also the lao shu, monkey, penguin times plus the SMS prank. *giggles* I spent some time and a lot of money studying in MOS at Bishan with XM, and got fatter.
2003:
Temporary work at HDB, from interviewer to coder, and even some observation thing. A's results didn't turned out good, but nonetheless still went on to choose my course in University. The decision was somewhat influenced by my supervisor, and honestly, I don't regret it till now. (Except for the fact that I chose Biostats instead of pure Stats.) Attended Orientation camp, where I met my bf.
2004:
University life -- nothing much to say. I pretty much just went for lessons and didn't take part in extra activites, except for Orientation camp again. I don't even think my presence was needed. Still, I was glad I had WL who attended like 98% of lessons with me. Went to Phuket with bf and his friends, totally screwed up and came back without a single photo! Just 3 weeks later, the tsunami sweeped that same beach we were staying at.
2005:
Seemed to be about the same as 2004. Haha.. I start to realize my life is sooo boring and begin to think back on why did I not join more activies or opt to stay in hall. I can't remember anything much for this year, other than making the decision to go for WAT and had to work in the dec hols despite me not wanting to as the bf jus ended his attachment then.
2006:
Of cos, the fondest memories were in USA, taking in the sights and going on road trips. I can't figure out how I can drive around there, and not as confident when taking on the roads (and parking) in SG. Had to make the decision to take honours or not. Ended up doing so (because I didn't want to graduate and miss commencement) and now I feel like I'm totally not suited for final year. And then, I realise, more so than ever, that how fast time passes.
Alright, I kind of exhausted what I can think of, unless some things just come to me suddenly again. Shall end off, just hope year 2007 would be good. Perhaps filled with better and more memories.

Hooked...
On YouTube, for the past few nights, or should I say mornings. It's during those most atrocious hours of 3am onwards that the videos load amazingly smooth and fast. The accomplishment: I (almost) completed the drama series of 恶魔在身边, still looking for the NG scenes. Even Dear said I have been possessed by the Devil.. Wahaha..
On comparison, I still prefer 恶作剧之吻. I think it's cos of Joe Cheng :p
I have also found some rather entertaining variety shows on YouTube, such as 桃色蛋白质 and 麻辣天后宫. Will continue to watch them every once in a while, maybe.
BUT for now, it's about time I stop all these nonsense and procrastination and really work on my fyp. It's only about 2 more weeks to the first presentation but I'm not quite done nor ready. In fact, my holidays have been so slack it's unbelievable! I even forgot about bidding for modules though it doesn't really matter -- it's just choosing 2 out of those 3 core modules.
Still, I get easily bored when I start fyp-ing. Hah. I want to get a haircut, and get my eyebrows trimmed. Hah.

Merry Christmas...
You know you're getting old, when you're no longer interested in joining those teens in squeezing with each other, to be at the countdown at the hottest places for the occasion. I don't even remember when was the last time I was there.
So, it was a homely occasion. Relatives were over at my place to celebrate my grandmother's and cousin's birthday. Afterwards, Dear came over at night. It's the first time he cooked for me (and my mum and my brother). Haha.. BUT I can't figure how come he took so long to cook, like an hour, and when he was done, it was exactly midnight. Anyway, I finally got my wish to play with the sparklers, together with Dear and my brother outside the house!!
For some reason, I don't even feel like its Christmas this year.

A letter to the Neighbour...
Dear Neighbour,
I'm sorry and thank you. For that one hour, which rescued me from some boredom last night. Now that my Internet connection is up and working again, you can be assured your connection speed's not affected by me anymore.
Regards,
Me
********
Finally, I see sun when I wake up today. Perhaps the skies decided "crying" too much can be tiring as well. Thanks for the sunlight, which allowed the guy to plaster the walls, and hopefully that will stop the rain water from seeping through my walls and save me from all that towel-wringing which made my hands rough and dry.
I think my holidays are sooo boring since I just stay home most of the time. In fact I've been staying home so much that I feel a little cooped up. What has become of me?! I recall holidays being much more fun in the past -- lots more going out and shopping, or even chalet/stayovers. I think I am growing old and boring; partly cos many of my friends are working already, that means even less going out on weekdays.
Aiyoyo.. How, how?! I'm bored, even though I have work to do. I'm reluctant to spend so much time on fyp too.
Contradictory creature!!...

Please...
Stop raining!!
My room can't take it anymore, neither can I. My hands are so painful from wringing the towel so many times, every few hours.

Love-ly stuff
These are little things that make me happy and contented. Like that night when I was feeling a little down after seeing the results, the conversation between Dear and I was filled with heart-shapes like these! They never fail to make me smile when I see them...

Then I have my dosage of laughter and love from watching the series 恶作剧之吻, a show I simply LOVE sooo much. How can I not with such a stunning (and tall) actor, coupled with a cute and blur actress?! I can't help but load some pics of scenes from the show.
It started with a kiss...

Awww...absolutely sweet, and loving it. I will certainly be looking forward to the sequel that's coming up next year in 2007! :)
Just to capture the moment of 3-3-3-3 between Dear and I...

Love is in the air...

Results...
Was supposed to be released on 26th Dec. But I got a sms from Dear, and said we can check our results through some website!!! Leakage of results?!? Obviously, many people knew about it too, from all different faculties!! This is screwed...for NUS.
I am utterly upset over the results. I just hope the results are not final and hopefully will improve a bit (though I'm not hopeful at all..) I got a C for that module I dreaded the most, and had done really badly for the final examination. C leh!! Should have known better, really..when I had done less than half of the paper. Sigh..
If only, I can get out of the house, and scream at the top of my voice now...
I'm not prepared for it.
Blame myself.

The Five Love Languages
My primary love languages are probably
Physical Touch and Quality Time.
Complete set of results
| Physical Touch: | | 10 |
| Quality Time: | | 10 |
| Receiving Gifts: | | 5 |
| Acts of Service: | | 3 |
| Words of Affirmation: | | 2 |
Information
Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.
Take the quiz

Rain, rain.. Go away..
Whenever it pours at my place, I would be reduced to my knees, wiping the floor and wringing the towel of the rain water that has seeped through the walls of my room. Why must my room be converted from a balcony, and blame those idiots who didn't do a good job on the roof! I dread every rainy season, though it's an excellent time to sleep in (if I don't have to worry about the leaking walls and ceiling, that is.)
I woke up bright and early today, to nudge elbows with some of the other people on the bus to get to the airport. To think that I was still hoping that I could catch some shuteye while on the bus initially. So I was holding to the handles overhead, while listening to the radio. I only tune in this morning, when I happened to be up early, and the topic of discussion had to be men and women's sexual fantasies , according to some survey.
It's damn funny hearing some of the sexual fantasies of the people who sent in their sms-es. One guy fancied having Paris Hilton lick his toes! Wahaha.. And there's this crazy (in my opinion) woman who fantasizes about being raped! Oh my, oh my, all these are not meant for the ears in the morning..
Anyway, got to the airport and sent WL off to Melbourne, followed by BK breakfast. Since I was out in the East, thought of "mall-ing" to the new Ikea shop in Tampines. BUT I never got there; I knew I was on the right bus, but somehow didn't see the building, and didn't want to venture too far and just got off to TM instead.
I was hopping to get a new (sling) bag, but I didn't see any that I fancy. Went home empty-handed, except for a handwash from Watson's. I decided that I need to wash my hands real clean before I take out my contact lens now -- a way of extending the lifespan of the lens besides caring for my eyes too.
I want to pretend that I am not free for consultation tmr, can I? I'm not prepared to go back to sch to meet the tutors, really. I was still hoping to communicate with them through email for the time being. Well, we'll see as to how the plan goes. Perhaps meet them on Thursday instead. I have nothing much to show them anyway. I barely proceeded since the last time I met them before the break for the exams :(
I'm bored.............

Go away, Mr. Flu bug..
I dislike this feeling -- when I want to sneeze and can't...
Weekends come and go. In fact, without school, weekends doesn't make much difference except that there's no drama shows to watch. I need to find something more constructive to do! Stop procrastinating about fyp, my dear self...
The most part of Saturday was spent at home, then going out for a short while for dinner with Dear. Caught some matches in the night, and I must say, there's an absurd number of goals. Haha.. I also saw the Men's Badminton Gold Medal match, which was entertaining too.
On Sunday, it's mahjong session with the sister and the guys. We have warmed the house, the table and the tiles! The game proceeded rather slowly, and I can't figure out why. (The only exception was towards the end, when I think everyone just wanted to go have dinner!) Haha..too much distractions maybe. It was Star Awards tonight.
Forecast for the week ahead: going to the airport to send WL off to Melbourne and perhaps Xmas lightings viewing and dinner with the gals. I think I might be slacking the rest of the time. I should email my tutors soon so I can make progress with my thesis. And of cos, start watching the dvd's...

Parking
If I don't drive and park often enough, I might be one of these parking idiots. Never knew how atrocious some drivers can get, perhaps I can console myself that I'm not that bad?
We can all do with some online practice, can't we? On the way to parking perfection!! It's kinda addictive, cos I want to get past all the stages..
It's a boring Friday...

Urban Retreat
Dear and I headed to Pulau Ubin for a really short getaway from the hustle and bustle. It's a "kampong" kinda feeling, to be there, riding on the bicycle everywhere you go. We even saw an old lady chopping wood!
Lunch was at the restaurant near the main jetty, and then was cycling on the trails in search of the quarrys, small strips of sand they call beaches and a futile attempt to reach Chek Jawa.
It's really quite a nice day, which I enjoyed together with my dear. Except for the fact that we both had numerous mosquito bites at the end of the day; it's horrible trying to cycle and scratch my leg at the same time!!
Before setting off to the jetty:
Cycle, cycle! Bumpy ride on the bicycle at times :|
Oh! Look, I spotted Cookie Monster! (wait, I'm not sure if the blue fellow is him actually..)
Dinner time!! Thai-styled food for the evening, of which the tom yum soup was really good!! So were the prawns.

Last but not least, some scenary of Ubin: taken from some beach, and also a peek of the quarry past the fence.

This is simple happiness :)

Bleah.
As usual, not a post goes by without complaining about my exams. It was my last paper today, and I just knew it wasn't going to end well. True enough, I only did 21 out of 50 marks. This already meant that I have failed the final exam. SIGH. I was pretty upset I didn't feel like talking much. I really don't know what to expect for the final grade. SIGH.
Somehow, this always happens. I never fail to screw up my last paper. I slept at freaking 5.30am and woke up 7.30am today. I actually spent 3 freaking hours writing the helpsheet, which thankfully, helped me to some extent. It doesn't feel good to end the exams like that.
So while I was sad abt my last paper, I should still rejoice the end of my exams, almost the last I'll sit through in my tertiary education. I won't have papers to take in the multi-purpose hall anymore, since class sizes are typically around 20 now. Count me from below.
I had about 4 hours to spend, to wait for the boyfriend to finish his last paper too. I hopped onto that same bus that I took with him one week ago, but somehow the journey seemed much longer without him by my side. I just had my mp3 playing, and had the song "Hanging by a moment" on repeat.
I walked arnd Funan IT Mall, still undecided if I shld get the laptop bag. It's really a want, rather a need; but I just feel like having it. *hmmm* Should I or should I not? $$$

The next one and half hours seemed like the longest ever. As I nibbled at my sandwich, reading the free copy of travel magazine in Gelare cafe, it's never more than 10 mins since the last time I took a peek at my watch. I was really bored and sleepy.
The only good thing that came out of that stay in the cafe, is that I have another travel destination to add to the list of places I want to go!!
Presenting.... FINLAND (looks reallyyy pretty on the magazine)!!! The hometown of Santa Claus, and more importantly, where you can see..
Aurora Borealia, or The Northern Lights.
Dear finally came at 4.30pm and I must say I was really bored and tired by then. No YAMI yoghurt today to perk me up :( but I guess dinner more than compensated for that. We went to this restaurant called aRoyThai at Funan. I had doubts at first, as the restaurant had less than 2 tables occupied even when it's dinner time. Of cos, those doubts vanished after the food was served. The Paat Thai and their green curry chicken was good! We were satisfied.
That was all we did for the day, walked arnd in Challenger for awhile, had our dinner and headed home. There was nothing special, but yet I felt happy. Happy to see him after one week, happy to have him around me, and happy he loves me.
Notice there's totally no flow in my thoughts at all. Just writing down whatever comes to my mind. And sometimes I wish I have a richer vocabulary of words to express what I'm thinking/feeling. Anyway, this is just something that made me laugh last night. Haha..
SMSes between the "silly" boyfriend and I:
Him: There's an article in today's new paper, seaworld shamu attacked the trainer..
Me: Seaworld Orlando ar? Then is the trainer ok?
Him: Seaworld San Diego.. The trainer ok..Think u better throw away the shamu toys..its evil..doggie better..
The innocent one... and the even more innocent one...

I think I shall sleep earlier tonight.

Welcome..
To the month of December. The month of raindrops, lights, xmas and presents. (Oh, and fyp!)
Not to mention what I just saw in the mail: that results will be released on Boxing day. I hope I'm not in for any BIG (bad) surprises.
10 hours more to last paper!
