The Path
Perhaps what the Master said was true, as I find things looking somewhat promising if I'm really considering a career in research. I really count myself very lucky. It seems as though everything has been planned out for me. From the very beginning when I took up that topic for my honours project under my supervisor, to the recent event of her asking about my interest to join the Centre as a research assistant.
If this is an opportunity, I wonder if I should just jump at it and take it up. The job scope is leaning more towards the academic side, and I'm not sure if I have the interest and the ability to do it and take it up as a career. So I thought, how about giving myself one or two years to try out a job that is directly related to what I've been studying first before I consider other options. Besides, I can skip the process of job hunting all together~!
Should I or should I not?
Anyway, I had two other professors attending my presentation, other than my supervisors and examiner the other day. I must say, I am very happy to hear some positive feedback about the presentation from them. They could follow most of what I was saying, and were somewhat satisfied that I answered their questions sensibly (though not totally correct). This means a lot to me, as one of them may be my prospective employer at the Centre.
Suddenly, I have all these dealings and email correspondence with professors, when I haven't had any of such contact with any of them for the past 3 years of university life prior to honours year. And if I do go into research, I will probably be facing them and working with them so often I would become 'immune' to them~! Hah
Yes or no? I've still got some time to consider...
